I have got to hear of about 3 cases, where some prospective corps members (PCM) were posted to states outside there states of choice.. This is why i’m writing this post.. So you’re on the right page, if you’re asking this question: Is It Possible for A Corper To Be Posted to a State Not Selected for NYSC?
You should know that each individual prospective corps member during the NYSC Mobilization registration, will be required to select 4 states among the 37 states of the nation.. These states are categorized into four; a few of north-central with southeast, southwest with south-east, etc. This means that 6 geopolitical zones are regrouped into 4.. This therefore act as four (4) choices of states to be chosen, which thereafter a prospective corps member is deployed to one..

The Question Now Is; Can You Still Fall Outside These States Selected?
Surprisingly the answer is Yes. As earlier mentioned, NYSC designed its system to present you four states to choose from but still, the NYSC management reserves the right to post a PCM to any state even outside those chosen.
In other words, choosing your best or most favorable states doesn’t impose any obligation on NYSC to post any prospective corps member to any of those states..
NYSC Confirms That Prospective Corp Members Can Be Posted To Any State
NYSC has answered a question on her Twitter page not quit long ago..
The official statement on her twitter page was that. it has the mandate to deploy a Prospective Corps Member to any State of the Federation whether chosen or not.
It was also stated that “No more available States to choose, is not an issue”. When more States are available you can still select and also if no state was selected, you will still be deployed to a State…
No more available States to choose, is not an issue. You can select when more States are available, and also if you didn’t select any, you will still be deployed to a State. NYSC has the mandate to deploy you to any State of the Federation whether you choose a State or not.
Therefore, a prospective Corps Member may be posted to a state other than the one he or she has chosen… But still, Its just a probability and not a guarantee…
